Air Jordans and Air Force Ones by Brian Cliette

In 1982 Nike, an all time, all generation brand of sneakers, released a sneaker variety and called it The Air Force Ones. Imagine 25 years have gone by since its first launch but it has not lost its charm. This shoe gets its name from the plane Air Force One, which carries the President of the United States.
Even today many of us await the new variety launch of this brand eagerly. Well, when it was first launched this shoe was the first of its kind to have a full length air sole. This is the same year when the Hip Hop culture was very popular and these shoes gained popularity with the Hippies. As this culture was connected with the people of New York and also to the Basketball scene, it became popular among all the people. Many of you may be avid collectors of this brand, but I'm sure that even the best of you wont remember how many varieties have been released so far. Its because Nike has launched many versions including celebrity exclusives, special holiday shoes and limited color ways. Varieties like low mid top and high top are present in this variety of Nike shoes.

Seeing the popularity of Air Force Ones, Nike decided to launch another variety in 1985 - three years after the Air Force Ones were released - which they named as the Air Jordan. They decided to change the color and style of basketball shoes which were conventionally white in color. They came out with colors like black and red which were not only uncommon but also considered devil colors.

They named this new launch Air Jordan and made Michael Jordan the brand ambassador for their product. Initially there was a lot of apprehension among the people but as we all know it went on to become one of the most famous brands of Nike. Even today people just love to look at it and desire to own it. A youngster who goes to buy an Air Jordan even today looks as excited as a youngster of the yester years did. It's this magic that Air Jordan was successful in creating. Air Jordan was started off with basketball shoes and later endorsed in many other products as well like sneakers, casual footwear, exclusive wears, women's wear, men's wear, children's wear, bags, accessories and many such things. Many of you must have worn or possessed these products especially the sneakers at least once in your lifetime. Nike gave up the ownership of Air Jordan in the year 1997, but even today all of us remember Air Jordan as Nike's Air Jordan

The popularity is ever increasing for both brands of Nike. The new launches, the varieties, the sale, auctions etc are still awaited eagerly with the people of all genres.
