Get 2 Vacations for the Price of 1 by Enid Glasgow

In the tourism industry, Cancun is two locations; the city of Cancun and its off-the-coast neighbor, Isla Mujeres. While you would still book your stay at an exotic Cancun hotel, you might take a day trip to the island for its clean, simple shoreline and an all-around tropical atmosphere.
Both locales have their perks, so why spend your day at one over the other?

Go to Isla Mujeres for...

Dining on the freshest fish.
Scuba diving the cenotes for "sleeping" sharks.
Leaving the crowd behind.
Exploring a generally-untouched terrain of rocky cliffs and thick, green shrubbery.
Stay in Cancun for...

Zona Hotelera, or 'Hotel Zone'.
Watching all the parades and indulging in the infamous margaritas that either make or break the restaurants and bars that serve them.
Fervently shaking and grinding to reggaeton, salsa, or hip hop.
Perusing the lanes of Mercado Veintiocho for genuine Mexican wares, foods, and other memorabilia.
What's nice about having Isla Mujeres in such immediate proximity is that never do you have to choose one or the other; you can have your cake and eat it too, south of the border.
