Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas by Jim Margaine

It was back in 2003 when the Black Eyed Peas and Fergie were both having lackluster careers when suddenly, the collaboration of one song "Hey Mama" landed them both in the spotlight. From their vigilant hip hop roots, Black Eyed Peas has grown to become quite the phenomenon in the music industry. After Fergie left her previous group "The Wild Orchids" because of failed record sales, it seemed as if she would have to work even harder to make a real name for herself. It didn't take long as The Black Eyed Peas who had always admired her style and sense of music, asked her to come sing on one song. Five songs later and a slew of attention, they asked her to join The Black Eyed Peas permanently. Together they worked on the 2003 album "Elephunk" which catapulted them to a level of success rarely seen by a hip hop group. After selling seven and a half million albums, and receive one Grammy award it seemed that there was no stopping the success of both Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas. In 2005, after the success of "Elephunk" came "Monkey Business", which was The Black Eyed Peas fourth album and most successful album to date. With songs like "My Humps" and "Don't Phunk With My Heart" Fergie ringtones were revered as a more sophisticated but still exciting group. The group's leader will.i.am, along with apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie are thrilled with their success but more so, they are still having fun with the music that they are writing and singing. They want to make sure that they have music that will last from generation to generation, and obviously they have already proven that they do. With so many fans worldwide, The Black Eyed Peas along with Fergie are sure to be around for a long time to come with their fluid funk styling.
